There it was. One of the second story windows. So naturally. I panic. "You should've said sooner!" I yelled. Actually, he did. "You should know it yourself! What are we going to do if they make us pay for it?" Kiyoshi yelled. In the back of the mind I considered telling the truth to be easy because he said "We" so, I wouldn't be the only one paying for it. But he wasn't the one that threw the ball... "Let's run before someone finds out! We don't have money to pay for this, right?!" Kiyoshi said in away of trying to put sense into my head. I don't know. It wouldn't be right. Before I could think about what to do Kiyoshi grabbed my hand and started leading us back to the school.
We ran back to class and was immediately being questioned. "Your faces are pale. Were they that cruel?" Haruku asked. "No, it wasn't that big of deal. The window glass-" Kiyoshi cut me off by putting his hand over my mouth. "Y-yes! We had water thrown at us but Teru covered me most of the time." I'm surprised nobody could see how nervous he is. "Those Student Council guys really piss me off. More than anything else, I can't forgive them for antagonizing you guys. They should stop saying "scholarship students" or "poor people"!" Haruka ranted. That made me laugh. I started to feel a little better. We all started chiming in and gladly accepting ourselves as poor people. I heard a beep or chittering music coming from somewhere in the room. My phone! "Teru, your phone's ringing." Haruka stating the obvious. I ignored her and grabbed my phone. Its Daisy. "What you look so happy for? Your boyfriend?" Haruka teased. I laughed. "N-no! That's not it." I said. But I could feel my cheeks getting hot.

From: DAISY
To: Teru

Thanks for the email. You seem well. But I wonder if you really have no troubles. I know that you're in a difficult situation. Don't over-exert yourself. I'll always be watching over you.

He knew. Gosh, is he a mind reader? I reread Daisy's message over and over again. I felt safe and secure. Happiness filled my heart as it always does when I get a message from Daisy. That night I spent hours trying to figure out what to write back to Daisy. Its funny how anxious I am to get his messages but then I have a hard time writing to him at all sometimes. I wonder if he gets like this as well?

The next day things seem to be better. Much more calm then it was yesterday. And less wet. The bell rang and I gathered my books. I caught up with Haruku so we can have lunch together. "Hey did you hear about the hacker?" She asked with excitement. "...Eh? A hacker?" Now what's going on? "Everyone's talking about it. The library system breakdown was actually the work of a hacker. Those who say that he's quite adept." Haruka said. This conversation puts the image of my brother in mind. "Did he invade from the outside and break the system? If so, then he's not called a "hacker" but rather a cracker." I said. "Is that so.. You're knowledgeable about computers?" Haruka asked. "Nope, not at all. But my brother had always been interested in these things..." I said. I felt proud of myself for remembering the little information that I knew about computers.
"Ah, just in time." Arai said while coming out of his office. "Sensei Arai." We both said in surprise. "Could you tell the class that the lecture on data processing has been cancelled? The server in the computer room is down." Arai said. "Sensei, could it be the hacker's fault?" Haruku asked. "Uh, you know about it? News travels fast. Just between you and me, the control system is almost completely annihilated. Keep this a secret. Because of that, the Student Council is enraged. I better be off. Don't forget." Arai said. Did he seem scared? Maybe it was just stress.
"Is Arai the advisor of the Student Council?" I asked. "That's right. Because he's a computer major, he's being worked to the bone. I pity him." Haruka laughed. "But really, take that Student Council! There's no mistaking it. The hacker is on the side of justice." For a second I wonder to myself if......nah.

We made our way to our class. By this point we are starving but we had to give them the good news. Even during lunch there are students who like to hangout in the classrooms instead. But as we approached the door. It was strangely silent. Normally you can hear students talking loud and laughing and talking about the latest manga. Strange. We walked in half expecting that there wasn't any students but there was. "What's wrong everyone? Listen! This afternoon's lecture has been cancelled-" I cut off my good-news-speech. I looked around the room. Everyone looked like they seen a ghost. Kiyoshi standing across the room from me. The look on his face... Then I realized why everyone was so quiet.
