The next morning Kurosaki was still acting the same. He literally wasn't in the same world as me right now. Is this what they call love sick? I put my hand on his forehead. "Are you not feeling well, Kurosaki...?" I asked. He looked at me as if I spoke another language. He pulled my hand away from him gently. "Idiot. It's nothing..." He smiled and then lit a cigarette. He's such a bad liar. He's troubled over that woman... At least, that's what my intuition is telling me. But even though it's none of my business. I decided to face it head on...
I got to school a little early and I went straight to the counselor room. "Please excuse me. I'm Teru Kurebayashi. You're the new counselor, aren't you?" I asked. She turned around and smiled at me. Oh no... She's beautiful! And of course Kurosaki would like her. She has boobs! It's so unfair. I can't go up against something like that. But I guess for Kurosaki... I'm up for the challenge even though I don't have a chance... "Welcome, Teru. I'm Riko Onizuka. Nice to meet you." She said. "Um, I would like to ask for your advice about something." I said. "Alright. Please, sit down. Would you like some tea?" She asked. I nodded and she poured what smelled like was jasmine tea. I tried to calm myself and I took a sip of my tea. Damn... she even makes tea better than I do! "What do you want me to give you advice about?" She asked. I took a deep breath. I thought about what I was going to say all morning but it seems that it all has changed now that I actually met her. I can't believe I'm about to do this...
"I'm sorry. To be honest, I'm not asking you for advice. My friend Haruka sent me." I said. I kinda chickened out but I threw Haruka's name under the bus for what she did yesterday... "Ok. What's going on with your friend Haruka?" She asked while sipping her tea. "I know that this is rude to ask but I'm the only one brave enough to ask for her. Haruka wants to know if you are Kurosaki's girlfriend." I asked. Out of know where I suddenly got a face full of tea. Riko started laughing uncontrollably to the point that she had tears running down her face. I wanted to die... "I'm so sorry! I got tea all over you!" She said while still laughing. She helped me clean up and we both was sitting at the desk again. She took a minute to calm herself. "Why would I be the girlfriend of a brat like him?! Who's been telling you and Haruka such an absurd thing? If Kurosaki heard that, he'd hang who ever started that rumor. But Teru, I already have a guy I like. Kurosaki is just my drinking buddy. In fact, he's more like a little brother. But that aside, if you came here to actually ask for yourself, you don't have to lie to me." Riko said. My face was burning red and somewhere in my heart I could almost trust her. She smiled at me. She knows I'm only here for myself, I didn't have to say anything... "You're blushing. How cute! You like him, don't you? But I didn't expect you to be so proactive. Way to go!" She said. "No, well... I'm surprised myself." I said almost speechless. After she had another laugh, her face suddenly fell into sympathy. And I couldn't understand why. "But Teru. You'd better not fall for him. He's not a very good man." Riko said. I understand. Somehow, I knew that all along. I put my face down. "I know. But... it's too late..." I said.
